The Uni Finance workshop in Paris in February 2023 highlighted the imminent impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the financial sector. The OGBL Financial Sector stressed the importance of social dialogue in anticipating change. The need for new skills was highlighted, with a proposal for a training platform to guarantee employees’ future. Ethical concerns persist about the use of AI, particularly with regard to data protection. In conclusion, the increasing use of AI requires social dialogue, collective bargaining, a legal framework and an observatory to manage the impacts on financial sector employees. OGBL will continue to monitor these developments.
